Wisdom Loh

Founder of The Freighter Good

I was born in London England to Ghanaian parents who studied there on a British government scholarship after Ghana’s independence from Great Britain. My parents worked tirelessly on their careers to fulfill their commitment and obligation to the country’s growth and success. They dedicated their lives as citizens, helping and assisting anywhere to make life better for many Ghanaian people. Watching our parents serve their country and its people formed a passion for service within my siblings and I.

I migrated to the United States where I attended Creighton University and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I volunteered for many causes as a college student, sharing my passion of service to the people and eventually connected with The Good Shepherd Orphanage outside of Accra.  The late Rev. Aboagye and his wife founded this orphanage in 1989 with a single child that has grown to over 56 kids to date.  I have supported this orphanage personally for more than 10yrs financially to help make a better life for the kids.

Last year we expanded our role to also help the grade school kids in the small village of Anfoega, funding a renovation of the school building for the kids. Unfortunately, the needs of the two projects are beyond what one person can achieve. For years, my good friend Justin Malmstrom and I talked about what I was doing back in Ghana. Together we decided to collaborate on the Freighter Good Project to help raise funds to assist with the current and future projects in the deprived communities in Ghana.  We will seek additional volunteering and financial help from our family, friends and anyone willing to help to assist to meet the growing needs of this and other future projects.

I currently reside in Omaha, Nebraska and am employed as Medical Research Consultant in Pharmaceutical R&D, with a focus in Clinical Research. I continue to travel to Ghana bi-annually to visit and work on various charitable projects in service to the people.

Co-Founder of The Freighter Good

A native Nebraskan, I am passionate about traveling the world with opportunities to meet and work with people from different nationalities of varying backgrounds and cultures. In an increasingly globalized 21st century it is important to expand my worldview.

A father of two young boys, I relish every opportunity my boys have to learn and grow with positive experiences and education. Through my own experiences I have seen the disparity that exists in establishing that foundation early in life for numerous children. Inspired by my friend Wisdom’s personal story and current efforts have compelled me to help expand his gesture to reach more children and contribute my professional expertise and personal experiences. It is through the Freighter Good where I focus my energy and dedication to bridge that gap to create opportunities for all children everywhere.
